Star Wars

I copied the layout of this painting from a poster by Simon Z, a very talented English gentleman who takes hirez Star Wars images and through the magic of photoshop pastes them into some very artistic and compelling designs. Like I said previously, I like to paint from high rez photographs. This is now one of them.

Lost

It's kinda' fun to go back and look at some of the paintings I've worked on. This was my first group shot. A lot of characters. A lot of detail.

3rd Frankenstein

This was the last of my Frankenstein paintings. Friends have told me to contact Universal about licensing this one as a print. Again, I tried to give it the look of a colorized old photgraph but in reality its an ink washed painting that has color added. Hope you enjoy the results.

frankenstein 2

Here's a second Frankenstein that was done to emulate Frazetta and Boris in an homage to old Warren Eerie magazines rather than my ultra-photorralistic style. You must click on them to appreciate the detail.

Frankenstein

This was fun and I used all sorts of techniques to capture the old time movie flavor.

I haven't seen this movie but I loved this painting.

Harry Potter Movie

Here's two different paintings.

Wrestling Action

I'm posting a portrait of John Cena and an action shot between Kane (old costume) and HHH.

Transformers Movie Poster

The latest movie. You gotta' love these robots.

King Kong Poster

This is my personal favorite just because of the girl in the middle of these two enormous beasts. I forgot to mention on my last post that you can enlarge all images just by clicking on them. I know MOST of you know that already, but there could always be some newcomers.

Fantastic Four Movie

I NEED large digital files of whatever I'm painting. I NEED to see the detail in the characters I'm painting. This is a section of An FF poster I recently finished and a close up section of the painting's detail. I hope to post most of my work with this same basic template. I'm new at blogging so I hope that this works.

A Brief Introduction

I've always been an arist. I make my living as a professional graphic designer in the creative department of America's largest calendar publisher. I've done art for comic books and art prints and over the last few years have decided to specialize in photo realistic pop culture art using a variety of tools from air bush to Painter and Photoshop. I'm always tinkering, always refining, always going for just the right look. On this website I'll be posting some of that art and sharing it with those who care to take a quick look.
